A trip to the Caribbean is a dream destination
for many people, especially if you are sick and tired of the
chilling cold winter. For tourists, hotel accommodation eats up the
hugest portion of one's vacation money or budget. Still, some would
willingly pay the price to get the best of services, leisure and
relaxation. Which hotel will best fit your needs, and more
importantly, your budget?
Low Cost Caribbean Hotels
Yes, you can still enjoy the enchanting
Caribbean islands whilst in a tight budget. Instead of staying in
five star and luxury Caribbean hotels, you can stay in low cost
hotels. Hostels, apartment hotels & self catering hotels are
much cheaper, although dining services are usually unavailable.
Low cost Caribbean hotels often range from $12
to $60. They usually include free parking, 24 hour reception,
security lockers and free breakfast. Internet access may or may not
be available, depending on the low cost hotel. Some low cost hotels,
however, have no available air conditioning in their hotel rooms,
which can be quite disadvantageous, especially since Caribbean
weather can get very hot.
Great low cost hotels include the Negril Yoga
Centre (Jamaica), Van Villa (Jamaica), Surfer's Haven Guest House
(Bahamas), A Piece of Paradise (St. Lucia), Rincon Inn (Puerto
Rico), Hengsheng Garden Hostel (Puerto Rico) and Miller's
Guesthouse (Trinidad and Tobago).
Mid Range Caribbean
Hotels
Mid Range Caribbean Hotels are a few
dollars more expensive than low cost hotels, but they provide you
with more amenities and convenience. For starters, mid range hotels
have better location and access than low cost hotels. They
are often near shopping areas, restaurants, cafes, pharmacies
and more, making their location strategic and ideal.
WiFi or
Internet Access is usually available, as well as security lockers,
24 hour reception, free parking and air conditioning. Mid Range
Hotel rates often range from $60 to $200. Great mid Range hotels
include the Banana Shout Resort (Jamaica), Jackies on the Reef
(Jamaica), Point Salines Hotel (Grenada) and Wind Chimes Inn (Puerto
Rico).
High End Luxury Caribbean
Hotels
If you demand the best, go to the best.
Although not exactly the cheapest, you're to get the highest
quality of service with luxurious Caribbean hotels. Luxury Hotels go
$300 up. These hotels have all the leisure and entertainment you can
imagine: golf courses, swimming pools, children's play centers,
fitness rooms, gyms, cafes, tennis courts and amazing food. Luxury
hotels more often than not have private white sand beaches, so you
can enjoy the beach and the sea once you step out of the hotel. They
provide the best views of the seascape, and give you the best
sunsets and sunrises on the islands.
The Half Moon in Jamaica is arguably the best
luxury hotel on the islands. Celebrities, royalty, presidents, heads
of state and the church, couples and families have stayed here and
come back home satisfied with Half Moon's luxurious accommodation
and her infinite array of activities.
The best luxury hotels in the Caribbean are:
Parrot Cay (Turks and Caicos), Beaches Resorts (Turks and Caicos)
and Casa de Campo Resort (the Dominican Republic).
